The 2020 presidential election has been one of the most important in recent decades with major consequences both in the United States and in Europe.

The Tocqueville Foundation and the French American Foundation – France are therefore pleased to welcome you to their joined event in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation on the following topic :
2020 elections, what remains of Tocqueville’s America?

The conference will be introduced by Arthur Goldhammer, writer, translator, scholar, afiliate of Harvard’s Center for European Studies.
The panel will be moderated by Ana Palacio, former Foreign Minister of Spain, and will be addressed by Laure Mandeville, former bureau Chief for America of Le Figaro, who is just back from Washington, and Pierre Vimont, French Diplomat, Director of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, French Ambassador to the United States and Executive Secretary General of the European External Action Service.
