Tocqueville Studies Workshop
The Tocqueville Academy organizes training sessions intended for teachers and students on Tocqueville thoughts and the values of democracy in partnership with local operators. These sessions aim to deepen understanding of the foundations of democracy and its contemporary mechanisms, through the lens of Tocqueville’s ideas and values.
They also serve as a space for reflection and transmission for educators, allowing them to strengthen their knowledge and become active contributors to the dissemination of democratic thought among younger generations.

A seminar day at Tocqueville Castle
On May 24th, the Tocqueville Foundation, in partnership with Parlons Démocratie had the pleasure of welcoming a group of teachers for a unique study day at the Château de Tocqueville, a very symbolic place where Democracy in America was written.
This special day was marked by a deep dive into the thought of Alexis de Tocqueville, guided by the illuminating insights of Françoise Melonio, Professor Emerita at the Sorbonne. who highlighted Tocqueville’s enduring relevance to democratic governance. François Duluc, Honorary Director at the National Assembly, and Pascal Rey-Pantz offered an insider’s view of parliamentary life and the workings of French democracy.
This training day provided a valuable moment of reflection and inspiration for those who carry the vital mission of educating the citizens of tomorrow.
Tocqueville Series
Organized by the Tocqueville Foundation, in partnership with Academica Dual Diploma™, the Tocqueville Series invites students enrolled in the Dual Diploma program to explore the values of democracy, liberty, and citizenship through the lens of Alexis de Tocqueville’s legacy.
From November 4, 2025, to January 13, 2026, four exclusive sessions will bring together scholars, thinkers, to reflect on his enduring insights and their relevance to the challenges facing democracy today.
An inspiring opportunity for students to engage in transatlantic dialogue and connect with the living spirit of Tocqueville’s thought.
