On September 26, the Tocqueville Foundation was delighted to take part in the inauguration of a new mural dedicated to Alexis de Tocqueville in Verneuil-sur-Seine.

Created by the artists’ collective Ma Touche Perso, the mural celebrates the special connection between Verneuil and Alexis de Tocqueville.

Before becoming the great thinker of democracy and freedom we know today, Alexis was first and foremost a child of Verneuil, where he grew up surrounded by his family.

For the Tocqueville Foundation, this inauguration is also a wonderful way to keep his legacy alive and pass it on to younger generations.

The Foundation warmly thanks the City of Verneuil-sur-Seine for this initiative, which brings Tocqueville into the public space and invites residents, younger generations and visitors alike to discover or rediscover his life and work.
